Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives National Laboratory Center
CTSI provides plumbing, mechanical, electrical, energy management, water systems, electrical distribution systems and architectural work including ceilings, floors, interior and exterior walls, access panels, stairways and railings and roofing systems for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms’ new National Laboratory Center in Beltsville, Maryland. The facility is 35-acre facility comprised of more than 500,000 gross square feet and encompasses three fire test cells, electrical equipment testing laboratories, forensic science laboratories, training laboratories, explosive laboratories, firearm shooting ranges, workshops, storage and related areas and administrative office space.CTSI makes available all management, supervision, quality control, labor, materials, supplies and equipment for the operation, maintenance, repair and preventive maintenance of the buildings’ equipment and systems. These consist of plumbing, mechanical, electrical, energy management, and water systems. The systems include site lighting, compressed air, vacuum systems, emergency generators, diesel engines, storage tanks, valves, HVAC, piping, systems controls, etc.
This worksite is staffed 24/7, with all major (potentially system-disruptive) repairs and preventive maintenance scheduled for outside of normal working hours. Development and execution of detailed operational plans for all building equipment and systems is the responsibility of CTSI. Provision of the highest possible operational efficiency compatible with the maintenance and repair requirements, and energy conservation is of utmost importance. CTSI is additionally responsible for maintaining a complete and accurate inventory of all equipment/property under the contract.
